At the Roadside
If an officer is going to write the driver and/or the vehicle up for violations, have the driver put their selling shoes on and get the information that will help your company appeal the violations, if available.
What the Driver Should Ask
Have the driver ask the officer:
Could you walk around with me while I take pictures and show me exactly what you’re seeing that’s causing these violations, so that I can take it back to the shop, have them fix my truck, and learn how not to have this problem again in the future?
Set the Ego Aside
The driver needs to set their ego aside, put their selling shoes on, and work with the officer to get you information to set up a possible appeal.
Don’t Move the Truck First
If the vehicle is moved at all after the inspection, it’s going to have changed condition. Any photos taken after that are going to be a moot point when trying to appeal the violations.
